Humerus, long bone of the upper limb or forelimb of land vertebrates that forms the shoulder joint above, where it articulates with a lateral depression of the shoulder blade (glenoid cavity of scapula), and the elbow joint below, where it articulates with projections of the ulna and the radius.

위팔뼈는 몸쪽끝과 먼쪽끝, 몸통으로 구성된다. 몸쪽끝에는 머리와 머리 아래에 약간 좁아진 부분인 해부목이 있고, 해부목을 지나 가쪽에는 큰결절과 앞쪽에는 작은결절이 있다. 양 결절 사이에는 결절사이고랑이 있고 결절 아래로 외과목이 있다.

1. 외과목

위팔뼈의 골절시 골절이 호발되는 부위이다.

2. 먼쪽끝

안쪽과 가쪽에 돌출된 부위로 안쪽가쪽위관절융기가 있고 안쪽가쪽위관절융기는 아래팔근육의 시작점이 된다.



팔이음뼈의 움직임은 복장빗장관절과 봉우리빗장관절, 어깨가슴관절의 복합적인 작용으로 일어난다.
어깨관절은 3차원의 모든 면에서 움직임을 갖고 있는 절구관절이다.
